My First Manifesto

I have to post something.

If I have learned anything as a writer, the first words are the hardest. Even if you just throw crap onto to page, do it. You can always revise the first part later.

Hello, my name is Thomas Brock, and I run the site Filmboy.com. For years, I have just used the domain to host my own email, but now I think it is finally time to do something with my small little piece of the internet. For some reason, when I think about what I would like to do with the site, I keep coming back to the number 3. (Cue Schoolhouse Rock.)

With a name like Filmboy, one of the things I would like to focus on is, well, Film. Actually, movies, television, and these new-fangled things called podcasts. I guess you could say all forms of entertainment. (Jesus told stories, there is a lesson there.) Yes, I get the irony of a domain called Filmboy when the use of film is almost over. That's what I get for buying a domain in the 90's.

Thing number 2 would be computers. I have made my living off of computers for many years now, and I wouldn't be writing this without one. Computers will also slow me down in my baby steps onto the internet, because I have a Day Job ®. So this will be a part-time gig for me.

The third item is what makes it all work, people. I don't want this to be a one-way street. I hope to build something that other people can become involved in.

I will post more as Filmboy.com starts to take shape.

Thanks,
Thomas
